South Africa has overtaken France as one of the most requested travel destinations in 2026, with safari bookings surging. The northern summer coincides with the Great Migration in Kenya and Tanzania and the dry season in South Africa for prime wildlife viewing. Luxury travelers are increasingly choosing Africa over traditional European destinations. Travel advisors report clients who previously requested Rome or Santorini are now booking fly-in camps in the Skeleton Coast and private concessions in South Luangwa Valley. The shift reflects growing preference for authentic, nature-based experiences over traditional cultural tourism.
