Barcelona have secured Raphinha’s future until June 2030, with Fabrizio Romano confirming that the Brazilian has already completed the agreement on a new contract.

The final details have been approved with the player’s representatives and lawyers, leaving the club to arrange the formal announcement.

Romano says the announcement and signing ceremony could take place as early as Friday, provided the remaining documentation is completed as planned.

Raphinha’s contract extension reaches final stage
The renewal is effectively sealed, according to Romano, with the negotiations between Barcelona and Raphinha’s camp concluded.

The proposed extension will move his contract beyond its previous 2028 expiry date, keeping him at the club until June 2030.

Notably, the new agreement follows the Brazilian’s previous renewal in May 2025.

Barcelona have since made clear that they view him as a central part of their sporting project, with sporting director Deco confirming at the club’s General Assembly in September that a further two-year extension was planned.

The remaining step is the official confirmation. If the paperwork proceeds as expected, Barcelona could announce the deal and hold the ceremony this week.

Raphinha’s value to Barcelona is not just about his goal return.

Indeed, he has been one of Flick’s most crucial players this season, but his work rate, direct running and ability to influence matches have also made him an important part of the structure.

The figures supplied for the start of the campaign paint an equally striking picture: 12 goals in La Liga and 14 across his first eight matches.

That output has strengthened the case for Barcelona to secure his long-term future rather than allow uncertainty to develop around his contract.

The extension also gives Barcelona greater continuity as they build around Flick’s core players.

As such, Raphinha would be approaching his 34th birthday when the new deal expires, showing the level of trust the club places in his ability to remain influential over the coming years.

With the agreement completed and the formal announcement approaching, the uncertainty surrounding Raphinha’s contract has effectively been removed.

Barcelona can now focus on other renewal priorities while keeping one of their leading attackers at the centre of their plans.
